STARDOLLS HISTORY
Stardoll's original name was Paperdollheaven.com, and started out as the hobby of the Scandinavian-born Liisa. Inspired by a childhood passion for paperdolls, Liisa started drawing dolls and accompanying wardrobes and taught herself web design. Her personal homepage rapidly became a popular destination for teens. In 2004, with the help of her son, she upgraded the site and called it Paperdoll Heaven. "Most online sites are focused on violence and competitiveness", says Liisa. "I wanted to create a positive online environment for young girls who are creative and interested in fashion. They are looking for alternatives to shoot 'em up and kill 'em up games." Liisa is still an important part of the Stardoll family and she makes new paper dolls every week which you can find at Stardoll.com, your paper doll heaven!

OCT 2004 - This was her first site! Called Paperdoll Heaven. So simple!
DEC 2004 - Soon she had to upgrade and revamp her site because of ALL the traffic she was getting to her site.
FEB 2005 - She added a Sign In, Search and People who just Signed In Features.
MARCH 2005 - This is when Paperdoll Heaven change its name to Stardoll. As you can see it changed to the stardoll colors as well.
APRIL 2006 - Big Change! This is when it started to look similar to the stardoll that we know now. Pay attention to how many members have joined!
JULY 2006 - Layout changed slightly. They added Medolls and a Shop!
DEC 2006 - Homepage animation has been added! Also "the show" at the top. Maybe its like stardoll cinema. Look at how many more members!
FEB 2007 - They added boy medolls and a couple more buttons for advertising.
DEC 2007 - Layout Slightly changed and ads were added. Members tripled since Dec 2006
JULY 2008 - Layout changed again slightly. Sceneries were added and Pick of the Day was added. Stardoll stood like this for quite some time. I joined in Aug 2008.
JAN 2009 - Stardoll decided to change its homepage giving it a fresh more appealing look. It also gives you a peek inside before you sign in.
JULY 2010 - Stardoll Now. They changed the home page to attract new members. I believe this change is one of the smartest decisions ever made by stardoll. Us stardoll members know what its all about, attracting new members is key to making it bigger.
